How well the Washington Redskins do this year will heavily depend on quarterback Robert Griffin III. So knowing that, the took tackle Brandon Scherff to go on the other side of left tackle Trent Williams to protect him. The R.G. III can also use some help from Alfred Morris and the running game, where Scherff also figures to help.

After already showing his meanstreak in offseason workouts without pads, Scherff is in training camp. And he has plenty of iron to sharpen his iron with in 3-4 outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan. Kerrigan and his 13.5 sacks from 2014, is the strongside linebacker linebacker, who regularly lines up across from Scherff.

And Scherff has his hands full as Kerrigan as the two have battled throughout training camp so far. ESPN’s John Keim said, “Kerrigan consistently beats Scherff  in one-on-one pass-rush drills, often with quick rips to the outside. But Scherff has done a nice job against him in the run game during full-team work. Did a nice job getting his feet around on an outside zone, preventing Kerrigan from setting the edge.

If anything, Scherff is having a good camp just by who he has to work against to get ready for the season.
