Andrus Peat

With a solid offensive line already, the New Orleans Saints took tackle Andrus Peat No. 13 overall. Things like that happen when personnel departments believe in taking the best player available. That’s a good philosophy to have because things just always seem to work out for teams that do that.

However, many around the Saints’ training camp are questioning if Peat was the best player available these days. And that’s a scary thing backs he’s with the starters now as Terron Armstead is out with and unspecified injury. ESPN’s Mike Triplett, who has spent time and the Saints’ training camp, has notices Peat’s struggles.

He said, “Peat has appeared to have a rough time in 1-on-1 pass-rush drills so far while going against a rotating group of edge rushers, including Spencer and Jordan. He has also gotten beat a couple times in team drills — though the nature of his position is to get noticed more when he makes a mistake than when he gets his job done.”
