Many believe that Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack will opt out of his contract at seasons end. So the Browns selected Cameron Erving No. 19 overall back in May to eventually replace him. But the All-Pro center isn’t gone yet so the Browns for a place to play for their first-round pick.

Erving has excelled at center and left tackle at Florida State so he can play anywhere on the o-line. And right now, he is in competition for the right guard spot with John Greco, a solid lineman. During this training camp competition, Erving really seems to be getting Greco’s respect.

Greco told Cleveland.com, “Cam’s been doing excellent. I think for a young kid as gifted and athletic as he is, he’s smart, too. Sometimes, you don’t always see that. Guys like me have to just rely on technique. I have no athleticism. I’m all technique and outthinking guys. He has both.”
