12. New York Giants- Shawn Oakman, DE, Baylor

It’s amazing to see such little progress made in the Jason Pierre-Paul injury situation. The New York Giants still seem unable to get concrete information about the long-term damage to his hand. This situation is sure to feature a few more twists and turns before it’s over.

New York would be wise to start thinking ahead by scouting some of the potential pass rushers eligible for the 2016 draft. Baylor’s Shawn Oakman would be an excellent fit in Steve Spagnolo’s system.

Oakman is a physical freak with a combination of elite length and athleticism. He’s still developing as a player but already shows the ability to generate a ton of pressure on the quarterback. The sky is the limit for a player with such skills.
