Player: Josh Doctson, TCU
Position: Wide Receiver
Game Info: TCU vs. Minnesota, Thursday September 3rd at 9:00pm on ESPN
Josh Doctson proved last season that he’s one of the more explosive players in college football. TCU’s up-tempo offensive attack allowed Doctson to put up huge numbers. The expectation is that his production will only increase.
He is a well-rounded player in that he can take the top off a defense, work the underneath routes and make catches in contested situations. This versatility only makes it tougher for defenses to develop a game plan to shutdown Doctson.
His best attribute is his fluid movement skills which allows him to quickly get in and out of his breaks without slowing down. Doctson is a nightmare to handle in man-coverage situations thanks to this sound route running.
The only concern I have is Doctson’s slender frame brings questions on whether or not he can hold up in the more physical NFL.
Doctson is on the 1st round radar and has a chance to be one of the first receivers off the board.
