Player: Jeremy Cash, Duke

Position: Safety

Game Info: Duke vs. Tulane, Thursday September 3rd at 9:30pm on CBSSN

Jeremy Cash is an interesting safety prospect thanks to his ability to support the run and play in the slot. Duke has a unique way of using Cash in that he rarely lines up deep in a traditional safety spot. This makes it tougher to develop a great feel for his fit at the next level.

However, there’s no denying his talent and ability to impact a game. He has a knack for putting himself in proper position. His feel for the game extends to great blitz timing, feel for developing routes and ability to create fumbles.

It’s possible that his fit at the next level is as a slot corner which may limit his scheme versatility. However, NFL defenses are being forced to play more defensive backs to matchup with offensive playmakers.

Unless Cash is able to show he can patrol the deep part of the field, he’s looking like a 3rd round prospect.
