10. Washington Redskins (3-4)- Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame
The Washington Redskins are another team that will be looking closely at the quarterback prospects in this draft. At this point, the prospects available don’t represent good value. Prospects like Penn State’s Christian Hackenberg, Ohio State’s Cardale Jones and Memphis’ Paxton Lynch all come with significant question marks.
They might be better served to roll with Kirk Cousins for another year and target a quarterback in the 2nd round. This would allow them to add a safer player like Notre Dame’s Jaylon Smith.
Smith is an explosive athlete who makes plays from sideline to sideline. He’s the type of linebacker who is a 4-down player meaning he can stay on the field in passing situations and contribute on special teams. I have Smith ranked as my No. 2 overall player so getting him here would be a steal.
