In-depth Scouting Report

Haloti Ngata may be on the back end of his career but he’s still a top-end run stuffer. However, the Detroit Lions need someone along the interior of the defensive line capable of wreaking havoc in the backfield. Robert Nkemdiche is a disruptive force who uses his explosiveness to make plays behind the line of scrimmage.

He’d be a great fit alongside Ngata where the Lions could allow him to shoot a gap rather than worrying about occupying blockers. Nkemdiche also brings some versatility to the table as he could kick outside to defensive end on heavy sets.

Don’t rule out the possibility that the Lions go in a completely different direction and target a quarterback like Cal’s Jared Goff. Matthew Stafford is owed a ton of money and isn’t performing to the level of his contract. Detroit could look to trade Stafford, save some money and adjust he future of the franchise.
