29. Carolina Panthers (6-0)- Carl Lawson, Edge, Auburn
The Carolina Panthers early season success has been a surprise especially the development of the offensive line. This means the Panthers have more flexibility in next year’s draft. Auburn’s Carl Lawson is a potential difference maker thanks to his ability to generate pressure on the quarterback.
Lawson is still working to overcome some injury concerns, but when healthy he has shown tremendous upside as a pass rusher. Carolina had to strike a deal for Jared Allen a few weeks ago because of issues at the defensive position. Lawson would provide depth and a long-term replacement for Charles Johnson.
Explosiveness at the receiver position is also an area the Panthers could address. Ohio State’s Michael Thomas would be a good complement to the bigger targets on the roster like Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess.
