The writer here is not a Pittsburgh Steelers fan but he sure does respect quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. He deserves more respect than any quarterback in the NFL including Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. The media goes on about how Brady has no receivers but there’s nothing wrong with his receivers.

And at the same time, he has one of the best tight ends in the history of the NFL as his No. 1 receiver. And no matter who’s out there on the offensive line, he can eat his lunch before throwing the ball. History has shown that when you get to Tom Brady and hit him like the New York Giants did in Brady’s two Super Bowl losses, he’s just like everyone else.

Roethlisberger on the other hand, will hold to the ball knowing he’s going to get drilled and throw and accurate ball. He even breaks tackles of defensive lineman to throw an accurate ball down the field. And when it comes to pain, Roethlisberger either doesn’t feel it or doesn’t mind it, playing with all sorts of injuries.

His latest is a painful mid-foot sprain that’s supposed to have him out for 2-6 weeks. But he is not to be counted out as he has shed his walking boot and was limited at practice on Thursday. The Steelers should be able win without him against the Cleveland Browns then they have a bye-week in Week 11.

That gives him two weeks to heal while missing only one game so Roethlisberger should take it. But he’s not trying to leave anything to chance, instead doing to all he can to get his team one of those precious wild-card spots in the playoffs. That’s just another part of why Roethlisberger deserves more respect than any other quarterback.

He’s the toughest quarterback in the NFL!
