The numbers

If you’re looking at win-loss record, Teddy Bridgewater has his Vikings at 6-2, in playoff position. But that’s more a result of Adrian Peterson averaging 108 yards per game in their six wins and 56 yards per game in their two losses. The Vikings have a top-10 defense to with that too as Bridgewater hasn’t made the big jump to year two.

So far this year, he has completed 64 percent of his passes for 1,670 yards, six TDs, six INTs, and a quarterback rating of 83.4. In his rookie season, he completed 64 percent of he passes for 2,919 yards, 14 TDs, 12 INTs and a 85.2 QB rating. So you can see that Bridgewater is not yet at that level where he can put a team on his back.

Carr is at 4-4 now, outside of the playoff picture after losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. But he has more to do with his team’s success than Bridgewater or anyone not considered an elite quarterback. The Raiders got Carr some help on offense this offseason but the defense is one of the NFL’s worst so it’s that has them at .500.

Carr has done his part so far this year, completing 63.7 percent of his passes for 19 TDs, four INTs and a QB rating of 104. With players like Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper being added this offseason, Carr has by far made the biggest jump. And he’s at that level where he can put the team on his back and carry them.
