25. player. 60.
The Minnesota Vikings have themselves a great pass-defense these days. But they’re giving up an average of 4.3 yards per carry when defending the run. The Viking’s defensive line is a major strength on the team with guys like Linval Joseph and Everson Griffen.

Fomer UCLA linebackers Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks are also strengths. But the Sun is setting on the career of Chad Greenway, who’s contract ends this year. So this is where the Vikings look to inject some youth and speed into the outside linebacker position.

And to do that Darron Lee is who they pick with the No. 25 overall selection. He draws a lot of parallels and-or comparisions to Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier. And its’ not just the school, it’s the similar body type, speed and athleticism.

Those traits are a perfect fit for the Vikings fast, athletic linebacker corps. He has terrific range and athleticism with the pursuit speed to close just like they do. The Vikings love to blitz too so that’s even more speed added to get to the passer that much faster.
. OLB. Ohio State. Darron Lee
