Davis wants to stay

You should believe Raiders owner Mark Davis when he says he’s trying to stay in Oakland first. Things will work out much better for him financially if he stays in Oakland instead of moving to LA. Many in Southern California believe it’s the other way around but that isn’t the case at all.

According to Bloomberg Business, the Bay Area’s No. 1-ranked economy in the nation is much stronger than LA. LA is No. 17 so the perception that the Raiders would be worth more in LA isn’t accurate. The Raiders’ net worth is $1.45 billion in their current stadium situation and it would go up to $2 billion if they went to LA.

But according to former Oakland economic adviser Zennie Abraham, the Raiders would be worth $3 billion with a new stadium in Oakland. The Raiders are in bad financial shape now because they don’t own a stadium. So they don’t get the money from the O.co Coliseum naming rights or even the revenue from the concession stands at home games.

They only get half of such things in LA with the Chargers but they get all of it in their own stadium in Oakland. They could then take advantage of all of the corporate sponsors in the area to bring in more money. Davis knows the Raiders have been mismanaged for a long time and wants a chance build it into a competitive franchise so he won’t sell.

And if he gets the help he needs to build his stadium in Oakland, he’ll have one of the higher-end franchises in the NFL. So he’s going to file for relocation because his current situation is dire and the league, that doesn’t want him in LA, will have to help him. Helping Davis getting get his stadium in Oakland is the best option because the NFL doesn’t want to leave all that money behind.
