15. St. Louis Rams- Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

In-Depth Scouting Report

Memphis’ Paxton Lynch is a raw but physically gifted quarterback prospect. He features excellent size, strong throwing arm and the movement skills to hurt a defense with his legs. His leadership ability is another area of note as he played a major role in Memphis having a historic season.

The Los Angeles Rams have had a need at quarterback for several years. They felt they had their man after Sam Bradford’s rookie season, but injuries ended his tenure with the team. Nick Foles really struggled in his first year with the team and is far from the long-term solution.

Los Angeles is in a tough spot because Lynch isn’t ready to step in and be an immediate starter. He’ll need time to learn how to operate a pro-style system as well as clean up his approach.

The franchise will be looking to make a big splash in their first year back in Los Angeles. However, they can’t let something like that impact their draft decisions.

Outside of addressing the quarterback position, the Rams could look to use another 1st round pick on a defensive end. Chris Long is becoming too expensive and has already been mentioned as a potential salary cap causality.
