Forget about San Antonio

After being blocked from L.A. by the NFL, Davis went back to Oakland angry because any leverage he could have had was gone. Many believed Davis was done in Oakland and all in on L.A. but I beg to differ. There was a clause in the contract with Davis and Spanos that if either one got a deal in their respective home market, the deal would void.

So even if Davis was voted into LA, there were no guarantees that he would have actually left. Many have glossed over the fact that the Raiders are worth more in Oakland with their own stadium than they are in L.A., sharing with the Chargers. Getting voted into L.A. would have given Davis the leverage he needed to get what he wanted in Oakland.

Since the L.A. pipe dream ended there’s talk about land that Davis acquired in San Antionio to build himself a staduim. And a lot of people bit into that pipe dream but there less of a chance he gets to San Antonio as there was for him to get to L.A. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones put the plan together to put Spanos and Kroenke together in Inglewood.

And as soon as he pitched it to the other owners, everyone but Davis and Spanos agreed to it. L.A. got it twisted about how much pull Spanos has with the owners while Jones showed us what real pull is. And Jones will use that pull keep Davis out of his territory so we can forget about San Antonio.
