Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers Team Needs

The Super Bowl is set and should be a very exciting game. Both the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers have tons of talent on both sides of the ball. Each team also has their share of stars including Cam Newton, Peyton Manning, Von Miller and Luke Kuechly.

However, these aren’t perfect rosters and there are some areas that both need to improve during the offseason. Neither team is thinking about that right now but the truth is free agency and the draft are just around the corner.

The biggest question for the Denver Broncos is the future of the quarterback position. Peyton Manning just wasn’t himself for the entire season and may not return. Brock Osweiler looked good at times but also had his share of bumps in the road.

More from With the First Pick

This draft features several quarterback who could be on the board when the Broncos pick in the first round. Someone like Memphis’ Paxton Lynch, Michigan State’s Connor Cook and North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz could be an option.

Denver could also wait and target someone like Penn State’s Christian Hackenberg in the second round.

Outside of the quarterback position, the Broncos could use some help along the defensive line where they have several pending free agents. Malik Jackson is the most notable and will find plenty of teams looking to add him to the mix. It’s unlikely that the Broncos can match the type of offer he’ll receive on the open market.

The Carolina Panthers have two needs that are easy to spot in the defensive backfield and at wide receiver. Ted Ginn Jr. has had a tremendous year but he’s too inconsistent to remain the team’s No. 1 target. Even with Kelvin Benjamin coming back next year the Panthers need more weapons for their quarterback.

Outside of Josh Norman, the Panthers secondary is a mix of veterans and journeymen who all could be replaced. Kurt Coleman is often exposed in coverage and Roman Harper is starting to show his age. Someone like Ohio State’s Vonn Bell would be a great addition in the first round.
