New York Giants
Running Back. The Giants have been trying to do the “running back by committee” for too long now. Jennings, Williams and Vereen just aren’t that good(or not good enough). They need a prime back that they augment with situational backs for third downs and short situations.

This isn’t to say that their current three headed monster can’t contribute, they could. However, their production smacks me more as a collection of backups that can’t be trusted when they need to make tough yardage.

The Giants were 22nd in the league on 3rd downs in 2015. 26th in the league for short yardage 3rd downs. This says it all honestly.

Three names to consider: Matt Forte(free agency), Ezekiel Elliot(day 1 of the draft), Alex Collins(day 2 of the draft).

Defensive tackle. Even if they retain Jason Pierre-Paul and Robert Ayers, the Giants need to remember what made the recently retired Justin Tuck so effective under Steve Spagnuolo: a constant rotation of penetrating defensive linemen. And right now, the Giants don’t have that, especially in the interior of their defensive line.

Cofield and Jenkins just don’t have much left in the tank. Jon Hankins and Bromley just don’t have the skill set the defense is looking for either. They need a 3 and 2 tech defensive tackle that can blow past a blocker and disrupt the play.

Three names to consider: Nick Fairley(free agency), Chris Jones(day 2 of the draft), Montravius Adams(day 3 of the draft)

Free safety. Landon Collins has some talent. However, he’s not a cover safety that can range back and forth in the deep 3rd of the field. He’s a in-the-box safety who needs to be close to the line of scrimmage otherwise his flaws will become very apparent.

Moving him to strong safety would help the Giants since they literally have no talent at strong safety right now. They were trotting out Brandon Merriweather at strong safety and that’s really not good for the G-Men.

Three names to consider: George Iloka(free agency), Vonn Bell(day 2 of the draft), Jayron Kearse(day 3 of the draft).
