He’s very calm in the pocket and willing to take a big hit. Wentz does a good job showing the patience needed to allow the routes to develop. He knows when to stick in the pocket and when it’s time to scramble.

Wentz features a quick and easy throwing motion that allows him to get the ball out in a hurry. North Dakota State’s offense asked him to work from under center where he showed the ability to effectively work play action.

One area where he needs work is his accuracy and overall ball placement. He asks his receivers to make a lot of catches by adjusting their body. Some of this throws to the sideline are on the inside shoulder of his receiver which will result in interceptions at the next level.

He was saved a little in college because of the level of competition and the zip he can generate on his throws. Wentz has a bit of a gun-slinger mentality and isn’t afraid to push the ball down the field. This has its positives and negatives, but overall it shows that he has the moxy to pay quarterback at the next level.
