Another Randy Gregory?

When looking at Nkendiche, first things you see and have to get past are his issues off the field. And of course, they all stem from the incident in which he fell out of a window of a 4th-floor hotel room in Atlanta. Nkemdiche was charged with possession of marijuana as there were several joints in his room.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, Nkemdiche’s explanation for that night dug him a deeper hole. He said he was drinking that night but didnt’ smoke marijuana, pointing the finger at teammates for having it in his room. Evaluators told Cole that naming teammates in the incident led them to trust Nkemdiche less.

Matt Miller, also of Bleacher Report, has a lot of the same story, saying, “He failed in the interview session [of the combine] to take accountability for his issues away from the field and also threw teammates under the bus. And if you watch the NFL Network press conference, he did the same thing there, often mentioning left tackle Laremy Tunsil as a player in that hotel window accident.

So based on all of this, both Cole Miller have Nkemdiche falling out of the first round and into the second. Miller describes it as a Randy Gregoy-like fall in the 2016 NFL Draft next month for him. Of course, Gregory was projected into top 10 in 2015 until he tested positive for marijuana at the combine.
