College Production

Throughout their history, the Raiders have been known for the hard-hitting safeties they’ve had. But in today’s game, you need a playmaking safety and Joseph is both. His productions in college supports everything the I and the draft experts have said about who he is as a player.

And he came on the scene right away as a freshman, notching 104 tackles, seven for a loss, a sack and two interceptions. Then he was solid in both his sophomore and junior campaigns. His senior year looked as though it was going to be his master piece to the college game.

But he would only play in three full games, due to an ACL taking him out for the rest of the season. But to that point, he was balling out, making plays on a level that not many could. In those three full games, he had 20 tackles, two for a loss, a sack five and interceptions.

I can’t say he could have kept on at that pace but if he did, he would have hade 80 tackles, eight for a loss, four sacks and 20 interceptions. Again, this isn’t to say he would have finished the year with 20 interceptions. But it is an indication of how high a level he was playing on in 2016.
