The Experts

Anyone that sees him on tape has to love him as NFL Network Draft analyst Mike Mayock said, “Every year, I fall in love with a couple of guys because of their tape and Karl Joseph is one of them. The kid himself says he models his game after Brian Dawkins.

“I thought he looked like a poor man’s Earl Thomas and I’ve had several scouts tell me he’s Bullet Bob Sanders. He’s got range that you can’t believe, he hits a ton, he’s quick footed in man-to-man, and to me, Karl Joseph steps in day one in Oakland. He’s a dynamic playmaker and I love this kid.”

ESPN Draft analyst Louis Riddick said, “This kid is the best defensive back to me, I don’t care if you’re talking about corner or safety, in this draft. But there’s nothing he can’t do. He can line up down in the box, he has great pattern recognition, great fundamentals, great hands.

“He can play the deep part of the field as far as high-pointing the football and I’ll tell you what. When you’re talking about the running game and you’re talking about hitting, there is nobody that absolutely delivers the hammer like this guy does. He’s all over the field, he’s a 1-man wrecking crew, who plays the position beautifully from snap to finish in all different disciplines”
