Coughlin didn’t have much to work with as injuries took their toll in 2015. There was nothing the team could have done to win last year with the defense they put out there every week. But now, the Giants are giving new head coach Ben McAdoo a chance to win with the moves they’ve made.

In free agency, the Giants signed three elite defenders at their respective positions. They have NT Damon Harrison, DE Oliver Vernon, and CB Janoris Jenkins.  With those acquisitions, the Giants defense should drastically improve from the worst overall defense in the NFL in 2015.

In the draft, the Giants picked CB Eli Apple, WR Sterling Sheppard and safety Darian Thompson. And let’s not forget that Victor Cruz is coming back from injury to go with Odell Beckham Jr. and Sheppard. All the new parts will improve the Giants but they’ll fall just short of the playoffs.
