The Tennessee Titans grabbed Dorial Green-Beckham in the 2nd-round of the 2015 draft because they saw enormous potential.

Dorial Green-Beckham had an interesting road to the NFL after staring at Missouri, but forced to transfer to Oklahoma due to off-field issues. He never saw the field while at Oklahoma and eventually declared for the NFL Draft.

The combination of taking a year off and off-field issues made it tough to get a read on Green-Beckham’s draft stock. His skill set showed a player with the 1st-round ability and potential to develop into an elite NFL receiver.

Green-Beckham features excellent size and length makes him a matchup nightmare. He could out leap most defenders and high-point the football. Green-Beckham also has good speed that allows him to stretch the field.

Tennessee felt comfortable enough with Green-Beckham’s past that they decided to pull draft him in the 2nd round. He had a solid rookie season where he showed flashes of his overall potential.

More from With the First Pick

However, more will be expected this year as the Titans are desperate for a game-changing wide receiver. Their wide receiver corps features a collection of talented players who failed to develop and No. 3 receiver type veterans.

Green-Beckham is the one guy who still has some sense of optimism surrounding his potential to develop. He appears to have refocuses himself after some mental lapses during OTAs. Green-Beckham recently talked about how he has been “getting into his playbook alot and studying”.

A breakout season from Green-Beckham could really spark the Titans offense. They have a solid running game with a physical offensive line, but are missing that explosive element in the passing game.

We still have plenty of time before the start of the season but any positive signs coming from Green-Beckham should make Tennessee fans happy. The fan base has some hope that this team could make a big step forward this year.
