Only two games remain on the schedule for Week 1 of the NFL season and we’ve already seen some strong rookie performances. It’s time to take a look at the weekly NFL Rookie Stock Report.

Several NFL rookies stood out this weekend appearing ready to make a significant impact this year. The two performances that stood out the most were by quarterbacks Carson Wentz of the Philadelphia Eagles and Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys.

Wentz helped his team jump out to an early lead against the Cleveland Browns. He was efficient, accurate and made wise decisions. Wentz did a great job spreading the ball around to different weapons. His willingness to attack down the field shows the type of confidence he possess.

Prescott’s performance was slightly behind Wentz but still impressive for a rookie starting his first NFL game. He started the game off really well only throwing 1 incompletion on the opening drive. That incompletion was actually a drop by Cole Beasley and would’ve resulted in a touchdown.

He wasn’t able to lead his team to victory, but put them in position to kick a last second field goal. That actually  never took place because Terrance Williams unwisely fought for extra yards rather than getting out of bounds.

Tennessee Titans Derrick Henry had a solid opening weekend working as a receiver out of the backfield. He finished the day with only a total of 44 yards, but showed he can contribute in multiple ways.

In fact, he likely would’ve gotten more work if the Titans were able to hang on to the lead rather than handing the Minnesota Vikings the win with turnovers.

The New Orleans Saints had an explosive offensive day against the Oakland Raiders and rookie Michael Thomas was part of the action. He finished the day with 6 catches for 58 yards. This shows that Thomas will be a part of the game plan throughout the season.

Carl Nassib had a nice debut for the Cleveland Browns registering a sack and three tackles. It appears that he’s going to be a difference maker on defense thanks to his ability to get after the quarterback.

The best rookie performance of the weekend goes to Will Fuller of the Houston Texans. He torched the Chicago Bears for 5 catches, 107 yards and a touchdown. Fuller took advantage of the single coverage provided by DeAndre Hopkins.

His day could’ve been much better had he not dropped a pass as he streaked deep down the middle of the field.
