O-line

Broncos OLB Von Miller got off on the Raiders and was extremely disruptive with a sack early on. On the play, he took advantage of right OT Austin Howard, who isn’t the same this year. But after that and a sack by CB Bradley Roby, Carr was kept clean.

He didn’t throw for a ton of yards or any TDs but he made the plays he needed to make. Left OT Donald Penn treated him like a rag doll when Miller lined up over him. Then the Raiders wore Miller and the whole front-7 by running right at him.

The Broncos’ coaching staff had to take him out more than usual because the O-line wore him down. C Rodney Hudson and G Kelechi Osemele were also monsters in the game. Osemele put DE Derek Wolfe and ILB Brandon Marshall out of the game.

The Raiders rushed for 218 yards on the night and most of it was behind, Hudson, Osemele and Penn. It was reminiscent of the old days with C Jim Otto, G Gene Upshaw and OT Art Shell. It was the first time since 2011 that a team rushed for over 200 yards on the Broncos.
