Running Game

Latavius Murray has completed his transformation from the straight-up, straight-line runner he was. Only he didn’t get much of a chance to show it because he got injured early in the year. The running game fell off a little when he was out.

But after the Raiders eased him back for a couple of games, Murray is back in full stride. Murray is now using his 6’3″, 230-pound body to run physically between the tackles instead of waiting for the big hole. He is now getting those drive sustaining 1st-downs and short TDs.

He’s also making people miss these days, something he wasn’t doing in years past. And yes, he still has 4.3 wheels as he showed it on a 42-yard run in the game. His totals for the night against the Broncos were 20 carries for 114 yards and three TDs.

Fellow RBs Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington had their hands in the 218-yard mashing. But it was Murray that wore down the defense. He picked up key 3rd-and-1s and all three of his TDs were in short-yardage, goal-line situations.
