Defensive Front-7

Led by Khalil Mack, the Raiders defensive front-7 dominated just like the offensive line did. The Raiders only had two sacks because Broncos QB Trevor Siemian got rid of the ball quickly. But Siemian was under pressure more often than not in the pocket.

Mack had those two sacks, four hits and eight hurries to wreck the game for the Broncos. On one of those sacks, he forced a fumble that he recovered himself. OLB Bruce Irvin and DL Darius Latham also showed up with hurries of their own.

Latham also helped hold the Broncos to 33 yards rushing with three run stuffs. Mack had a tackle for a loss himself as he and Irvin set hard edges, turning everything back inside. There, Perry Riley had a physical presence while Malcolm Smith had eight tackles.

CB Sean Smith missed the game with a shoulder injury but the front-7 made up for it. All the talk was about Aqib Talib missing the game but Smith was missing from the Raiders’ side. The defensive front-7 dominated without two of it’s best players.
