Despite missing the playoffs this past year the Denver Broncos have a loaded roster capable of quickly getting back into the Super Bowl hunt.

The Denver Broncos have a lot of talented players on their current roster. Most of their big-name talent is on the defensive side of the ball led by Von Miller. His ability to get after the quarterback and create turnovers is what makes this defense so dangerous.

Denver’s secondary is also a  huge part of their success with top-end cover guys like Chris Harris Jr., Aqib Talib and Bradley Robey. The safety position is also in good hands with TJ Ward and Darian Stewart adding a physical element.

One area where they could use some added talent is at the linebacker position. Brandon Marshall is a stud, but the rest of the group is lacking since Danny Trevathan left via free agency.

The defensive doesn’t have any standout players but the likes of Derek Wolfe and Jared Crick are solid contributors. They come with bargain contracts that have allowed the Broncos to keep guys like Miller, Talib and Harris in the mix.

This offseason’s major storyline will again be the quarterback battle between Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch. Both had their shares of ups and downs this past year which is why we’re seeing an open competition.

Lynch is the more physically gifted of the two and comes with the background of being a former 1st round pick. This is typically something that weighs heavily behind the scenes.

Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are still an excellent starting duo. They have seen their production drop slightly with the quarterback change but that’s to be expected. Denver needs to find a No. 3 receiver to take the spot of Cody Latimer who failed to live up to expectations.

At running back, the Broncos have enough money committed to CJ Anderson that he’ll get another shot as the starting running back. He’ll be backed up by Devonte Booker who had showed flashes but failed to produce in extended action towards the end of the year.

Some of the running game problems can be pinned on the offensive line. Denver has some young talent along the offensive line, but the overall consistency and production has lacked. It seems as though they’ll give the likes of Max Garcia, Matt Paradis and Michael Schofield another year to prove themselves.

The tight end position could use an upgrade in the pass-catching department. Virgil Green is a solid blocker but doesn’t command attention in the passing attack.
