A.J. Bouye, Cornerback

Prediction: Houston Texans ($23M Cap Space)

2nd Option: New York Jets ($39M Cap Space)

The is a lot of interest in A.J. Bouye around the league, but both he and the Houston Texans have expressed their desire to stick together. Houston has enough cap space to give Bouye a sizable raise and keep him on the roster.

However, it’s likely that other teams will be willing to offer him a contract with more money. Teams like Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Cleveland Browns are options.

New York is looking to add some talent to the secondary after the unit was torched last season. A lot of his has to do with the declining play, and now release, of Darrelle Revis. Bouye would give them a young and more athletic replacement.

Nick Perry, Pass Rusher

Prediction: Indianapolis Colts ($58M Cap Space)

2nd Option: Green Bay Packers ($40M Cap Space)

The Indianapolis Colts have some money to spend and they should focus their efforts on improving the defense. Nick Perry would represent an upgrade at the outside linebacker position and give them a legitimate pass-rush threat.

Green Bay is typically committed to keeping their own free agents and Perry is someone they should hang onto. The problem is that pass rushers are a hot commodity and it’s likely someone will outbid the Packers.
