Pierre Garcon, Wide Receiver

Prediction: Carolina Panthers ($37M Cap Space)

2nd Option: Cincinnati Bengals ($42M Cap Space)

The Carolina Panthers know they need to get Cam Newton some more help. They have solid receivers with Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess, but need someone with more consistency. Pierre Garcon is the type of veteran presence that would really help the Panthers’ offensive flow.

Cincinnati needs to use this offseason to replace the receivers they lost during last year’s free agency period. Their offense just wasn’t as productive without Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones. Garcon would represent an upgrade and help pull attention away from A.J. Green.

Martellus Bennett, Tight End

Prediction: New England Patriots ($59M Cap Space)

2nd Option: Oakland Raiders ($42M Cap Space)

The New England Patriots want to keep Martellus Bennett in the mix, but at their own price. They aren’t the type of franchise who’ll throw a ton of money at someone so outspoken as Bennett. He is an asset on the field, but can cause some drama in the media.

New England might be willing to go a little further than usual based on the fact that Rob Gronkowski continues to deal with injury problems.

The Oakland Raiders would be a good fit for Bennett as a team looking for a few more pieces to get them over the top. This is a team that is primed for a Super Bowl run and could use a two-way player like Bennett at the tight end position.
