Johnny Manziel has had enough and wants to get his life together. He just might get another football life with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.

Yeah, I’m a sucker for redemption stories.

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel looks healthy again. For awhile there, he was skin and bones from whatever drugs and-or alcohol he was using. But he has since started working out to make a comeback and put his weight back on.

And NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that Manziel had breakfast with New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton during the Super Bowl. And according to his sources, they talked about a possible return to the NFL for Manziel.

Manziel obviously has a suspension coming for a violation of the league’s personal-conduct policy. There are all kinds of photos and videos out there of him living in the fast lane. But Manziel claims to have reclaimed his life and one look at him tells me he has.

He even got Erik Burkhardt, the agent that fired him, to represent him again. If they can make this work, this is the perfect situation for Manziel and the Saints. Manziel could slowly re-incorporate himself back into football and learn from the greatest short quarterback in NFL history.

The Saints get a former first-round pick to possibly be the heir apparent to Brees. I’m sure they love Manziel’s ability to save a play when things start to break down. There are a lot of intriguing aspects to it but this is a fluid situation as it is very early in the process.

There is no shortage of hurdles for both sides either so stay tuned!
