Ben Roethlisberger will be back in 2017 so hold off on finding his replacement.

Please don’t act surprised but Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is coming back. It’s funny to hear the media put it in the form of “decided not to retire.” If you want to put it like that, every player that’s played over 10 thinks about it after each season.

Even Tom Brady thinks about it even though he plans to play another seven years. These men have wives and families that make them think about doing such things. And a tough loss to the Brady and his New England Patriots made him think about it a little louder.

But there’s no way a player that’s still so good would retire and pay back $18.6 million in bonus money. So the Steelers are still in win-now mode, meaning there’s no need to draft a QB early. I’ve been hearing the names DeShone Kizer and Patrick Mahomes a lot lately.

But if the Steelers hit in the first two round this year, in other areas they can go to the Super Bowl. I can understand trying to find his eventual replacement but he not in this draft class. And if something happened to Roethlisberger in 2017, the Steelers’ season is over anyway.

So the Steelers might as well load up this year and find his eventual replacement in 2018. There’s a much better group of QBs coming out in that class than there is in this one.
