Vanderbilt’s Will Holden is a long offensive line prospect who has just enough raw skills to be a developmental prospect.
Will Holden’s length and overall size is his best attribute. He features excellent arm length that helps him get into the defenders frame. His height gives him the ability to add some bulk and not hinder his athletic profile.
In pass protection, Holden keeps his hands out in front and attempts to protect the edge. If he’s able to get his hands on the defender he can be effective. However, he lacks the foot speed and overall athleticism to consistently hold up in space.

His lack of fluidity makes it difficult for him to adjust to inside counter moves. Holden can also raise his pad level which makes him susceptible to power moves. Despite his lack of top-end athleticism, his length and effort gives him developmental value.
The biggest issue with Holden’s game is his lack of functional strength. He really needs to hit the weight room in order to improve his power. This jumps off the screen in the run game where he struggles to Velcro to the defender and generate a push.
Holden has solid straight line speed which helps him reach the second level. However, he can’t sustain blocks and allows the defender to easily disengage.
This also happens at the point of attack where Holden relies on his use of angles ad snap awareness to be effective.
Overall, this is a prospect who isn’t ready to contribute at the next level. He needs to improve his overall technique and hit the weight room. However, there is some potential here for improvement. He shows just enough flashes to say he has a chance to stick.
