1st Round (No. 3)- Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State

The Chicago Bears were bargain shoppers during the free agency period which included adding several players at cornerback. They are hoping veterans like Prince Amukamara and Marcus Cooper can solidify a position that was a major weakness last year.

However, neither of these additions really move the needle meaning the Bears need to add high-upside prospects in the 2017 NFL Draft. They are lucky that this draft features a high number of cornerback prospects capable of developing into super stars.

More from With the First Pick

Marshon Lattimore has the highest upside of the cornerbacks in this draft. He’s an elite athlete who also features good size and balance. Lattimore showed this past season that he’s capable of playing lock-down man coverage.

However, he isn’t a perfect prospect as his limited experience and hamstring issues could force the Bears to go in a different direction.

The other prospects likely on their radar are LSU’s Jamal Adams, Alabama’s Jonathan Allen, Stanford’s Solomon Thomas and Ohio State’s Malik Hooker. There’s also a possibility they grab one of the highly touted quarterback prospects.

Either way, the Bears know this pick must produce a difference maker who ideally develops into a start early in his career.
