1.Myles Garrett, Edge, Texas A&M

Garrett is by far the top-rated player in this draft. He has the speed to eat quarterbacks alive and the size to play the entire line. Early on some scouts worried that he took off to many plays, but his work ethic throughout the draft process has eased their minds.

Garrett Showed off at the combine with elite speed and the ability to move with burst and ease. Garrett has the physical tools and the mental makeup to give the Browns more than just a every day pass rusher. Some questions linger about his ability to stop the run, however with the right scheme in place, Garrett should be able to transition well as a run stopper.

More from With the First Pick

Cleveland has been void of a top-rated pass rusher since there re-inception in 1999. The Browns Hired Greg Williams to coach the defense over the offseason. Williams runs very aggressive defenses, using a lot of blitz packages. Garrett is the perfect piece for Williams style of play calling. He brings some swagger to the defensive with his outgoing personality.

12. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech

Recent news came out that the Browns are in the market for Mitchell Trubisky at number one. This brings me to believe that they aren’t comfortable with punting on a quarterback this season and going with Cody Kessler. Cody was an accurate quarterback last season but struggled with his deep ball. That why Patrick Mahomes makes sense at this pick.

Mahomes is one of the rawest quarterbacks I have ever watched but  has the talent for this pic. He sometimes makes plays that leave you scratching your head, forgoing routine check-downs for home run plays. Running away from the point of attack before the play has had time to develop and missing post snap reeds.

Patrick has the tools to become everything the Browns ever wanted and didn’t know they needed. He has the strongest arm in the draft, with scouts showing a 60 mph velocity on his throws. The has the best lateral speed and he is smart, an academic all American. His deep ball accuracy and athleticism can perfectly execute the home run check-down offense that Coach Jackson loves to run. He will have to work on his pocket skills but if the Browns are willing to put him in a glass case with a sign that says don’t open until 2018, Mahomes could be a talent for the ages.
