23. Los Angeles Chargers

Key Additions: Russell Okung, Mike Williams, Forrest Lamp, Dan Feeney and Desmond King

Key Losses: Danny Woodhead, King Dunlap, D.J. Fluker

The Los Angeles Chargers were one of the hardest teams to figure out. They made some key offseason moves that should bring them closer to contention. A lot depends on how new head coach Anthony Lynn adjusts to his new role.

More from With the First Pick

Los Angeles’ offensive additions have a chance to be extremely effective. Mike Williams is a big-play threat who will quickly become one of Philip Rivers’ favorite targets. The combination of Williams, a healthy Keenan Allen, Travis Benjamin, Antonio Gates, Hunter Henry and Tyrell Williams will create a lot of mismatches.

They obviously have a lot of offensive weapons, but look for the changes along the offensive line to have a bigger impact. Los Angeles has a new starting left tackle in the oft-injured Russell Okung. He’s an upgrade over King Dunlap when on the field.

Don’t be surprised if rookies Forrest Lamp and Dan Feeney are both starting along the interior. Their addition should help open some bigger running lanes for Melvin Gordon.

Los Angeles has quietly built a very strong defensive unit. They high end pass rushers with Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram while Brandon Mebane and Denzel Perryman stuff the run. The secondary needs Jason Verrett to stay health in order to keep things locked down on the backend.
