Depth Chart Impact
The Los Angeles Chargers made several draft choices that will have a major impact on their depth chart. Maybe the biggest area impacted is the interior of the offensive line. Both Forrest Lamp and Dan Feeney are expected to see action early in their career.
They could put the roster spots of Orlando Franklin and Matt Slauson in jeopardy. Franklin was a big-money free agent a few years ago and hasn’t met expectations. He has a cap hit of over $7 million for the upcoming season.

According to Spotrac, cutting Franklin lose would create $4.8 million this year and $3.2 next year.
The addition Mike Williams creates a logjam at the wide receiver position. Williams will see his fair share of snaps which means Keenan Allen, Travis Benjamin, Isaiah Burse, Dontrelle Inman and Tyrell Williams will be fighting for roster spots.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise if Keenan Allen is the one that Los Angeles sends packing. His lack of durability has caused a major problem for the Chargers. It’s obviously one of the main reasons they drafted Williams in the first place.
Desmond King will get an opportunity to contribute as a rookie. Los Angeles lacks great depth in the secondary and could use King at either safety or cornerback. His experience will help him make a quick transition.
