Viewing this draft class should give Browns fans a ton of hope. Unlike in past years this front office let the draft come to them. That can be extremely hard to do considering they needed a quarterback. One of the most difficult decisions a General Manager can have is whether or not to reach for a quarterback when faced with that issue.

More from With the First Pick

General manager Sashi Brown preformed perfectly while facing the quarterback issue. Taking the best player available at each pick, while also getting the quarterback with maybe the highest upside. Brown gave his team another level to an already talented young core of players.

Brown also parlayed the 12th pick into a first rounder next season, a pick that I believe will be a lot higher than people think. Next season if they feel Kizer ins’t the “guy” they have the ammunition to go get a quarterback from a stacked class in 2018.

The Browns also got some really nice developmental players in the later rounds with Roderick Johnson, Howard Wilson and Matt Dayes. Scouts believe that with in a couple seasons Wilson and Dayes can be every day players. Wilson being a possible replacement for Joe Haden, in the coming seasons.

In all it is extremely hard to grade a draft class until a year or so down the road. With the pick of Myles Garrett over a reach at quarterback, the Browns should be ahead of the curve.
