Sleeper

Nathan Peterman was one of the hotter names leading up to the draft. Several big-name draft experts felt that he could hear his name called as early as the 2nd round. Everyone pointed to his poise, accuracy and experience has his biggest selling points.

The shock came when Peterman was still available in the 5th round of the 2017 NFL Draft. This opened up an opportunity for the Bills to add to their already solid quarterback depth. Buffalo will head into training camp with Tyrod Taylor as their starter, but their offseason moves speak to the fact they aren’t completely sold on his talents.

Peterman could get a chance to seize the starting job should Taylor fail to impress. However, it won’t be an easy task with Cardale Jones ahead of him on the depth chart.

Jones has a slight edge thanks to a year of NFL experience under his belt. He is also a more naturally talented player with a big arm and movement skills. The one positive for Peterman is that Jones has a history of career highs and lows.

Peterman is seen as a more steady performer which is something that could quickly win over the Bills coaching staff.
