14. Miami Dolphins- Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson

This upcoming season may be the last chance for Jordan Phillips to grab a long-term job with the Miami Dolphins. Phillips is an immensely talented defender who provides plenty of flash plays. However, he’s extremely inconsistent which has been frustrating for the Dolphins.

It’s a tough situation because the Dolphins already have a ton of money locked into the position with Ndamukong Suh. They need someone with a more manageable salary to play the other defensive tackle spot.

Phillips could be that guy, but if he struggles again this year Miami could look to the draft. Clemson’s Christian Wilkins would be a nice fit alongside Suh.

Wilkins is a versatile defender who possesses the ability to hold up against the run and generate some pressure. He has the potential to play some defensive end in bigger sets and 3-technique in more traditional alignments.

Miami could also use some help at the cornerback position. This would be a potential landing spot for prospects like Louisville’s Jaire Alexander, Florida State’s Tarvarus McFadden and USC’s Iman Marshall.

The Dolphins are heading into this season with Byron Maxwell and Xavien Howard as their top cornerback options. Maxwell has had his share of ups and downs since leaving Seattle.
