31. Atlanta Falcons- Trey Adams, OL, Washington

So much of the Atlanta Falcons success last season can be linked to their improved offensive line play. They were able to establish a highly effective running attack and provide Matt Ryan with time to survey the field.

While the offensive line was a strength, they still have a hole at right guard that needs to be filled. The retirement of Chris Chester created a void that Atlanta didn’t fill this offseason.

They will have a competition for the starting job this offseason between Ben Garland, Wes Schweitzer and rookie Sean Harlow. Neither of these options are ideal for a franchise looking to make back-to-back Super Bowl appearances.

Washington’s Trey Adams is a versatile offensive lineman who has most of his experience at left tackle. However, he has the skill set needed to make a move inside to guard. Adding someone with some left tackle potential will also provide some injury insurance.

The Falcons were very lucky to land Dontari Poe on a 1-year prove it deal. Poe’s free agent market was slow so he decided to join the Falcons with the hopes of regaining some value. A strong season from Poe would put him out of Atlanta’s price range.

This would create an opening at defensive tackle that the Falcons could fill via the draft.
