2018 NFL Mock Draft: Mid-July Update
By Jon Dove
25. Seattle Seahawks- Josh Sweat, Edge, Florida State
The Seattle Seahawks recent success has a lot to do with the play of their defense. One of the main constants with that group has been the ability to generate pressure on the quarterback. Two of their top pass rushers, Michael Bennett and Cliff Avirl, are starting to age.
Josh Sweat is an athletic edge rusher who is quickly becoming a force. He has the raw skills needed to develop into a double digit sack artist.
26. Dallas Cowboys- Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan

Rod Marinelli has long loved having a defensive tackle capable of penetrating the pocket. He was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when Warren Sapp dominated and in Chicago with Tommie Harris. The Cowboys have yet to have someone who can come close to their dominance.
Maurice Hurst is still raw, but flashed a ton of upside this past year. He has that initial burst and overall athleticism needed to wreak havoc in the offensive backfield.
27. Pittsburgh Steelers- Cameron Smith, LB, USC
The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping that Vince Williams is ready to take over for Lawrence Timmons. However, he has proven thus far to be more of a fill in and special teams player. If Williams fails, the Steelers could look at someone like USC’s Cameron Smith.
His combination of speed and instincts help him make plays all over the field. Smith would excel working behind the Steelers powerful defensive line.
28. Tennessee Titans- Clelin Ferrell, Edge, Clemson
Clelin Ferrell is one of a few prospects who could see a major rise in his draft stock. He had some dominating performances at the end of last year, but is still a bit raw. If he builds off his late-season performance he could work his way into a top-10 pick.
The Tennessee Titans could use a younger pass rushing option on the roster. This is especially true if Kevin Dodd never lives up to his draft position.
