The Denver Broncos are hoping that a few of their rookies are ready to take on a major role and help them get back to the playoffs.

Heading into the offseason the Denver Broncos made it a point to upgrade the offensive line. The biggest addition was 1st round pick Garett Bolles. He’s slated to step in and immediately compete for the starting left tackle position.

Bolles features excellent size and athleticism for the position. His quick feet and fluid movement skills allow him to protect the quarterback. He also plays with an edge that will help boost the Broncos running attack.

More from With the First Pick

The defensive side of the ball got an underrated player in DeMarcus Walker. He has a chance to get significant playing time as a rookie. Walker is a two-way player in that he can support the run and get after the quarterback.

Adding explosive offensive weapons like Carlos Henderson and Isaiah McKenzie adds depth. It also gives the Broncos more options in the return game. McKenzie is an especially talented punt returner who is a threat to score every time he touches the football.

Jake Butt has a chance to be one of the better players added by the Broncos. He fell in the draft due to a knee injury suffered late in the college football season. Before that, Butt easily could’ve been an early 2nd round pick.

He has the size and quickness to be a mismatch in the passing game. Butt knows how to find openings in the defense and wins in contested situations. His time at Michigan forced him to compete as a blocker.

Chad Kelly comes with his share of question makers, but he has obvious talent. This might be the perfect situation for him to mature and eventually earn some playing time.

Overall, the Broncos add several pieces that will provide immediate help. Bolles could be the key to the team’s overall success this season.
