The Cincinnati Bengals added several intriguing rookies who have a chance to make an immediate impact.

It’s very likely that we see a more explosive Cincinnati Bengals offense than we have in recent years. Rookies John Ross and Joe Mixon are difference makers with the speed needed to produce big plays.

Ross’ speed is well documented and will draw the attention of opposing defenses. It’s important to note that he isn’t just a speed guy as he also runs solid routes. He also possesses good hands and should be able to make plays on all levels.

Outside of hauling in passes himself, Ross’ presence will draw some coverage away from A.J. Green and keep defenders out of the box.

Mixon’s role in the offense is something that may take time to develop. He’s battling both Jeremy Hill and Gio Bernard for touches. Look for the veterans to get most of the carries early in the season, but for Mixon to be the lead guy by the end of the year.

He is a versatile player who can produce as both a runner and pass catcher.

A sleeper rookie on the offensive side of the ball is receiver Josh Malone. He features a long frame and the speed to take the top off a defense. Malone is just another big-play threat the Bengals added to the mix.

Cincinnati’s defense should see a boost in the pass rush from Jordan Willis and Carl Lawson. These two had very productive college careers and bring good athleticism to the field. Look for both to be worked into the defensive end rotation early in the season.

The rest of the Bengals draft class will serve as depth pieces. However, they are important to the makeup of the roster after Cincinnati has lost several players to free agency over the past several years.
