The Tennessee Titans added several pieces through the 2017 NFL Draft that could put them over the hump and earn them a playoff berth.

Plenty of teams use the NFL Draft to plug holes, but the Tennessee Titans did more than that by filling teams that could put them over the edge. This team was on the verge of the playoffs last year and hope the 2017 Draft put them over the edge.

More from With the First Pick

The biggest addition was wide receiver Corey Davis. His explosiveness and big-play ability gives the Titans a true No.1 receiver. This is a target who not only makes plays downfield but can take a short pass and turn it into points.

He is currently dealing with an injury that has threatened his status for the beginning of the regular season. Davis’ impact could be stunted by this injury as he’ll need to get back into shape and build a re pour with Marcus Mariota.

However, look for Davis to be a major contributor by mid-season if he doesn’t suffer a setback.

Taywan Taylor could see some meaningful action with Davis out of the lineup. The Titans were able to grab Taylor in the 3rd round which could turn out to be a major steal. He’s an elite athlete who can stretch the field.

Mariota got another potential weapon in tight end Jonnu Smith. He’s a developing player who has big potential as a pass catcher. Smith will learn behind Delanie Walker but should see some action in multiple tight end sets.

Tennessee is counting on Adoree’ Jackson seizing the starting cornerback job opposite Logan Ryan. Jackson is an elite athlete who features Olympic speed. He’s still learning the finer points of the position but his upside is through the roof.

Along with Taylor, Jackson is an asset in the return game. Overall, the Titans added some high impact talent that should help immediately. They at the very least added some explosive weapons to help Mariota.
