The NFL preseason is about to wrap which means another round of NFL Power Rankings which helps me project the 2018 NFL Draft Order.

Projecting the 2018 NFL Draft Order is a fun exercise that comes in handy when completing NFL Mock Drafts. My process includes taking an updated NFL Power Ranking from a trusted source. This time I used Fansided’s NFL Spin Zone who recently published their update.

After reviewing the rankings the projected draft order is developed in reverse order with a playoff scenario worked out for the final 12 picks. The playoff situation is done with seeding and the team that sits higher in the power ranking moves on.

It’s important to take this projected draft order with a grain of salt as it’s a fluid process. Things will change a ton as we progress through the season. However, this is a good way to take the current pulse of the situation.

More from With the First Pick

The 2018 NFL Draft already has two 1st round picks that have changed hands. Both the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs moved their 1st round picks in order to land young quarterbacks. They are hoping that Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes II are worth the cost.

These trades have provided rebuilding teams, the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills, with extra draft ammo.
