There are plenty of fantasy football players who are closely monitoring the status of Andrew Luck.

This has not been a great offseason for Andrew Luck who is still working his way back from an injury. It’s looks very likely that he will miss a few regular season games which will have a major impact on fantasy football.

Luck’s uncertain status obviously impacts his fantasy value, but it also  has a trickle down effect on other players. The value of players like T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Jack Doyle and Frank Gore all take a hit.

Those who have already drafted Luck now need to seriously look for another option. At this point, the pickings on the waiver wire are likely very thin. The loss of Luck could mean a slow start for several fantasy teams.

Hilton’s situation is pretty messy with Luck out of the lineup. This article written by CBS’ Jamey Eisenberg breaks down how poor Hilton’s numbers are without Luck.

Moncrief will also see his production drop, but his size and leaping ability make him a more interesting target. He’s someone who doesn’t need perfectly thrown balls to be at his best. We can expect some poorly thrown balls from either Scott Tolzien or Stephen Morris.

Jack Doyle is another pass-catcher who will see his numbers decline. The Indianapolis Colts will basically spend the first few weeks of the season trying to squeak out wins. They won’t be a high flying offense without Luck.

Indianapolis could lean on Frank Gore more than usual in the early going. At his age, feeding Gore more touches could impact his long-term value. He’s someone who has managed to stay fresh despite the miles on his legs.

Conversely, the extra work for Gore could mean more work for rookie Marlon Mack in the long run. Mack is an explosive athlete who would provide the offense with a spark. It’ll be interesting to see how the Colts handle this unfortunate situation.
