Brandon Marshall vs. the Dallas Cowboys

The New York Giants had one of the more explosive offenses last year and figure to improve on that performance this season. Some of that improvement will come thanks to the addition of Brandon Marshall.

More from With the First Pick

Look for Marshall to quickly establish himself as the Giants No. 2 pass-catching option. He has a few more good years left in the tank despite his age. Marshall never won with quickness or athleticism. Instead, he uses his size and toughness to haul in catches.

Marshall will also benefit from working opposite Odell Beckham Jr. This is the first time in Marshall’s career that he isn’t the most talented receiver on his team. It also means that he will see a lot of single coverage for the first time in his career.

The week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys should give Marshall a chance to get off to a hot start. Dallas’ secondary doesn’t have the talent to matchup with the likes of Marshall and Beckham Jr. They figure to use a rotation featuring Orlando Scandrick, Nolan Carroll, Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis.

Marshall could be able to feast on this group—especially when you factor in the anticipation of him seeing a lot of single coverage.
