Wyoming’s Josh Allen is the hot name right now and rightfully so. He has the size, athleticism and arm talented needed to succeed at the next level. Allen has a bit of a gunslinger mentality, but more often than not makes the proper read.
His development will depend on landing with a team that has some patience. He will go through some growing pains as he adjusts to the league.
With Todd Bowles on the hot seat, the Jets could use the potential of adding Allen to attract a high profile coach. Head coaches will jump at a chance to work with someone as talented as Allen. The fact he’s young would also give the coach a longer leash.
New York’s roster isn’t completely ideal for a young quarterback. The offensive line is a mess and they lack weapons in the passing game. However, starting the rebuild with someone like Allen is the right move.
