21. Buffalo Bills (via KC)- James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State

The Buffalo Bills are painfully thin at the wide receiver position where they intend to start the newly acquired Jordan Matthews and rookie Zay Jones. Matthews’ status for the beginning of the year is in question due to a chest injury.

Buffalo’s offseason moves signal that the team is in the beginning stages of a rebuild. They have worked to add extra draft picks and give more playing time to younger players. Earlier in this mock draft they added a franchise quarterback in Josh Rosen.

They now can provide him with a reliable target in Oklahoma State’s James Washington. A group featuring Washington, Matthews and Jones would have a ton of potential.

Washington is a solidly build receiver who plays with a lot of physicality. He is always in attack mode and routinely wins in contested situations. It’s his leaping ability, strength and long arms that make him such a reliable target.

He is a true big-play threat who has a knack for making plays down the field. Washington might not turn heads with his 40-time, but he knows how to change speeds. This allows him to create separation and produce.
